Wee Little Violets

I just love this cute little sock.  I have an entire series of 3-D socks, enough to fill a book... now I just need to set aside time to get them down in print.  Just $4.00, perfect summer sock when done in bamboo.  The trims are made for both crochet OR knitting.  You can learn the little bit of crochet,,, or not, there are great video's on UTube if you choose to.  It's a good tool to have and I highly encourage you to give it a try.  Or you can just knit your way through the trims as you wish.  Add a little bead or a lovely purl to really take it over the top.

Floral Swirl Slouchy Tam

Isn't this sweet!  I love it!  This is a one skein project which only uses 165 yards of say one of the current luxury yarns.  It's smashing!  Stays on good and tight so don't fret about it falling off.  It spirals at the top as does the lace pattern.  You can wear it off to one side, to the back with all your hair out or in, or muffin top.
Only $5.00 for the pattern.
Supplies
Yarn:           165 yards of DK weight luxury yarn or yarn of your choice
Needles:     US size 7 circular, 16” long and size 6 circ, 16” long and a tapestry needle
Elastic:        3 yards of a fine beading elastic.  ( I used Stretchrite #3961, Beading Cord Elastic-comes in a 5 yd pk)
Gauge:        20 sts. in 4”, 24 rows in 4”

Winter In Kensington Park Gloves

So we all want spring right?  These little babies will see you through to it.  Just enough to keep you warm but cool enough to take to the office to keep you warm.  The pattern matches the above hat so if you have a skein with 2-300 yards it should be enough for both patterns to crank out of that skein.  Pattern only $5.00.  I can dye the yarn up for you too if you want some really soft (very like Malabrigo) yarn see my hand painted page.
Supplies
Yarn:          165 yards of DK weight luxury yarn
Needle:     US size 7 circular, 16” long
Gauge:          20 sts. in 4”, 24 rows in 4”

Triple Button Headband
Not sure why but all of these headband ideas are flooding my brains.  Each will be very different from the last.  Most working up very quickly on size 7 with a worsted weight yarn but that will vary as well.
A quick project for you in the same ribbing the above glove has.
Yarn:         165 yards of DK weight luxury yarn
Needle:     US size 7 circular, 16” long
Gauge:      20 sts. in 4”, 24 rows in 4”
Pattern fee  $1.00

Multi Use Headband
Use it to hold hair back, keeping ears warm, a cumberbund or a neck warmer.  Fun, fast knit which keeps you engaged.  Scalloped edging, ties and something you have long wanted to hear,  "gauge not terribly important here".  Price $1.00
Needles, size 7 straight, size 7 DPN's, tapestry for weaving ends.  Worsted weight yarn, about 100 yards.

Smoke Ring
I dyed the merino/tencel roving and can dye your favorite colors too.
I spun the yarn finely and can do the same for you
I plied with a cream tencel yarn, ditto.
I knit them up from a pattern in my head and beaded it. WOW WHAT FUN!  this is all my creation and I adore it!  I'm working on the pattern so that you can have one too.

So snuggly and comfortable what with it being merino/tencel. I made it so that it's wider at the shoulders and it lays very flat there... sort of like a collar only it hangs down over them a bit and the beads keep it down so that it's not flapping all around.  I like these so much more then scarves at they are forever getting caught on something or having to be adjusted.
Supplies:     Heavy fingering or heavy sock weight yarn you love about 550-600 yards
Needle size US 5 circular 24”
Size 6/0 (E) glass beads, 2-3 tubes of 2 multi colors 1050 beads (unless you change the size of the ring)
Crochet hook size 12 or smaller

Of course it doesn't have to be done in hand spun yarn, here it is in cream fingering with clear beads.

Please feel free to play with the pattern as you wish, adding more lace or knit as you desire.   Finished tube is about 21 inches long.  32 inches around at the face and 40 inches around at the shoulders.  The added weight of the beads makes it lay flat and lovely... never needing adjusting. This project is knit in the round.  This pattern uses the crochet hook bead placement method or you can skip the beads.  Pattern contains my beaded picot cast on and bind off.

SEED N BEAD SOCK 2!!!!

Send me a photo of you with your original pattern and I will send you this one free!!!  For all others this patterns fee is just $5.00

This was so much fun, toe up with textured foot, a much more spiral beaded/textured leg that is still created to slouch.  My much coveted beaded picot bind off is included in this pattern.  216 beads and sock yarn needed.

Shawl Collar Vest
This one is crochet, took me 2 days to figure out, will probably take you only one!  A great vest when you just need a tad bit of warmth.  I added 2 buttons to this put a shawl pin or broch will do nicely as well.  Took 9 balls of Noro Kureyon, any worsted weight will work great.

Fall Shawl
Pattern now available for the Fall Shawl... a shawl which makes use of the lovely hand painted yarns.  A shawl which was designed just for the purpose of using the lovely hand paints.
 It's a hug from me.
Originally this was designed as a mystery with clues going to the IcelandicLaceShawl group at Yahoo Groups in the Fall of 2008.  As you can see the hand paint doesn't fight with the lace patterning.

You will need at least 1980 yards of lace weight, size 6 circular needle, size 16 crochet hook to place approximately 2000 beads.   $8.00

Bed Jacket
I made this in what? 2 days?  I bet you can too!  I love it!  It's perfect for over my PJ's in bed for late night knitting.  This is crocheted from any worsted weight in your stash.  Two rosettes grace the front, contrasting scallop trim and a pewter hook and eye closure.  $5.00

Floophy Sleeves

These could be used with short sleeves or over long sleeves... they are so popular currently.  Or you could just pick up stitches on a sweater pattern and use this for the sleeve.  Pattern just $3.00.

SEED N BEAD SOCK PATTERN
Just fresh from the test knitter... my new pattern is available.
It's a beaded slouch sock... that I ADORE!  I want to make them in every color.  I have another one that I'm getting the pattern for which is along this line.  I want to make an entire study of this style.  The pattern is only $5.50 retail (available to LYS in bulk for less) and I take paypal.  This was a sample kit that went well at TNNA in June, 08.  As well as Stitches Mid West, you might find the kit at Stitches West in February 09.

BOOT TOPPER SOCK PATTERN
This fun little lace cuff has an entire sock behind it.  While it looks terrific in boots it can also be worn without them.
This pattern is only $5.50 and available upon request to mailto: wmdress@sbcglobal.com
I take paypal or you can send me a check.  Just put boot topper sock in the subject line.  In this pattern I teach lace, the placement method of beading and crochet provisional cast on.  Due to the special foot construction these can be worn with or without boots.  I can't wear boots and I wear these a lot, they don't sag a bit and are wonderfully comfortable.  My son says that the toe of the foot reminds him of the Empire State Building!  Since there's a "special foot contruction" I can't show you a photo of the foot.  You will just have to buy the pattern to get the Empire.  ;-)  This sock pattern starts in the center and goes out to the cuff then back at the center and down to the toe. On this pattern I offer up my special beaded picot bindoff that I made up for my Tofutsie Tee. The self same of the KAL I hostessed for SWTC in Summer 08. I teach the crocheted provisional cast on, beginning lace, placement method of beading, beaded picot bindoff and how to make socks from the center,,, what fun!

This pattern won the SWTC Tofutsies sock design challenge in the embellished catagory.  I have the pattern available.
Test Knits
What follows are items which I have knit in this past year for hire.  Meaning, I was compensated for knitting them, either in funds or equipment - my sign says, will work for yarn.  This is not everything that I have knit as I have knit many items for our family and friends as well.   This is to give you an example of my work, it's all top quality as well as FAST.  I'm fast and accurate and so can crank out whatever you are needing.  I'm very versatile and have learned a lot.  Major yarn companies are represented here but that doesn't mean that I will not work for a consumer directly.  Please write me for a quote mailto:wmdress@sbcglobal.net

East West Satchel

The roses are just so lovely.  They would be smashing over a sweater chest.  Can't you just see the flap alone on a solid brown satchel... very 70's tooled and painted leather.  I used to have a purse like that... back in the day.

Felted Wine Cozy and 6 pack

Clock Tam in the clock form                                           and in the tam (right) along with a few swatches

Newsboy Cap

Selbu Blazer from Mary Scott Huff  I ADORE this project and will make one directly I find a thinner yarn which has 50% wool in it. ;-)  I never go outdoors so a 2 stranded worsted weight woolen is out of the question.  Perhaps Palette?  LOVE IT!

Palette Fair Isle Cardigan

Harvest FI Cardi

Louisa

Meet the Gurumi family!  Aren't they sweet.  I worked them up in a week.  Worsted on size 1's.

Classic Lines Cardigan knit in lace weight yarns with great shaping added into a circular knit.  Love it and highly recommend this pattern which is free from the Knit Picks community.

March 09 KP catalog

After making this I asked them if they were sure they wanted these colors... we all were in agreement that they weren't working and they gave me free reign to choose what follows.
Isn't my model adorable?  She's my BF's DD.  The colors are much more pleasing I think.

This was on the cover of the Knit Picks Winter Catalog 09.

These appear in Knit Picks catalog, Holiday 08

This shawl is huge! I cast on 1800 stitches for this one then knit in the round.  My interchangable needle cables weren't long enough to get round this one, it was a challenge.  This part took 150 hours and I think that I did it over a two week period... to show you how fast I am.  Yes, that's a KING sized bed behind the chest.
This is knit to pattern....
Here's what I changed on the pattern to bring it up off of the floor.  I think it looks much better the way I fixed it.  This item was featured in the Stitches West fashion show 2009.

I love Fair Isle and am making this bag for myself.  It's becoming a popular knit a long now. I lined it with a blue satin fabric, NUMMY!

I made this XL man's sweater (pieced not in the round) in 6 days!  DH really liked it and he's not a sweater man but he said he would wear it to work,,, which is why I made one for him in black, grey and white.

These socks and above shoulderette lace shawl were made in one week,,, yes, I'm a very fast knitter.

These socks were a lot of fun, each stitch was different and just about every one charted, a challenge is always nice.

The week following the shawl/socks week, I did it again!  HAHA I had so much fun seeing how fast I could knit.  I love them all.

This top is called Heatwave, it's made from a bamboo yarn.

This is a Vickie Howell design.

My Seeds N Beads Duo... the second pattern I wrote off of the original pattern.

These are in the Conjoined Creations book that was just published summer 2008.
